Massage therapy techniques are used to relieve pain caused by injury or illness.

Anthem Institute—Springfield offers a Massage Therapy Diploma for students interested in becoming a massage therapist. Students are trained to perform Swedish, respiratory/geriatric, sports, and spa massage applications, as well as trigger point therapy. Other classes cover body systems, nutrition, and hydrotherapy.

At Anthem College, student success is our Number One goal. We have several supportive processes in place that encourage more personalized instruction, and a supportive campus environment:

• Our Education Department meets with each student to provide academic guidance, assist with mapping out class schedules and arrange for tutoring services if needed
• Our Student Services Department assist students who need outside services to help them stay in school and can help them find housing or child care, for example.

The massage therapy Diploma program gives students the tools they need to compete for entry-level massage therapy positions in clinical or sport facility, or even businesses such as salons and cruise ships.

Massage Therapy Course with Entrepreneurial Emphasis

A class on business practices discusses ethics and standard business practices concerning hygiene, first aid, and CPR. It also introduces content on starting and promoting a massage therapy business.

After successfully completing all coursework, students complete a supervised rotation in our onsite massage therapy clinic. Clients come from the school and general public, giving students real-world experience.
