Diploma Program

Massage therapy students are trained to provide massage to relieve pain caused by injury or illness.

Anthem College—Sacramento offers a Diploma in Massage Therapy for students interested in entering the massage therapy field.

Our massage therapy students learn about anatomy, pathology and physiology as they relate to soft tissue injury. We also provide hands-on training in the different modalities used throughout the profession, such as Swedish, sport, spa and geriatric massage applications, as well as trigger point therapy. Other classes cover body systems, nutrition, hydrotherapy and injury prevention.

A class on business discusses ethics for massage therapists, as well as standard business practices concerning hygiene, first aid, and CPR. It also introduces content on starting and promoting a massage therapy business.

Hands-on Massage Therapy Clinic and Sports Training Opportunities

After successfully completing all coursework, students complete a supervised clinic. The program also prepares them to sit for the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and compete for entry-level massage therapy positions in clinical or sport facility settings.

Furthermore, we are dedicated to our students’ and desire to give them the tools they need to reach their academic and personal goals. We offer:

• Education Department staff who provide academic advising, arrange for tutoring and organize study groups
