Anthem College – Sacramento

Originally established in 1992 as High-Tech Institute, Anthem College-Sacramento offers career-focused training programs in the healthcare field.

Hands-on Healthcare Education and Curriculum

Our programs are designed to meet the needs of today’s medical employers. We offer a learning experience that combines coursework with hands-on training. Students have the opportunity to practice in real-world lab environments that prepare them for the working world. Our goal is for students who come prepared to learn will leave prepared to succeed.

Anthem College is conveniently located within 15 miles of downtown Sacramento. In addition to its central location, students benefit from transit services in the area, such as the urban light rail, bus service, and express commuter buses from suburban cities. These services make is easier for students to commute to campus.

The health care industry in Sacramento County is expected to see steady growth. Economists predict that the industry will grow at an annual rate of 2.6 percent between 2008 and 2018. This makes it the fastest-growing nonfarm industry in the county.

In addition, health-related jobs account for almost half of the 50 fastest-growing occupations in the county.   The list includes careers such as Medical Records and Health Information Technicians and Massage Therapists.

ACICS-Institutionally Accredited Trade School in Central California

Anthem College-Sacramento is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). The College’s Medical Assistant program holds programmatic accreditation from the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), and the Pharmacy Technician program holds programmatic accreditation from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

Per California Assembly Bill (AB) 2086, the following information is made available to provide access to California license examination passage rates for graduates of Anthem College programs requiring California licensure.

  • Pharmacy Technician: The State of California only requires Pharmacy Technicians to register with the State Board of Pharmacy.  As a result, licensure pass/fail rates are not available. Graduates of the college must have a high school diploma or GED and are eligible to sit for the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
