Diploma Program

Massage therapy students study different types of massage techniques to relieve pain and stress caused by illness or injury.

Students can earn a Massage Therapy Diploma at Anthem Institute—Parsippany, which offers a hands-on education for persons interested in working in the field. They learn the skills they need to compete for entry-level massage therapy positions primarily in clinical or sport facilities. Massage therapists also work in businesses such as salons and cruise ships.

Comprehensive Massage Training

Students in Parsippany’s massage therapy program are taught Swedish, respiratory/geriatric, sports, and facial massage applications, as well as trigger point therapies. Additional courses discuss body systems, nutrition, and hydrotherapy. A course on business practices focuses on how to launch and promote a massage therapy business. It also discusses ethics and standard business practices concerning hygiene, first aid, and CPR.

After successfully completing all coursework, students complete a supervised clinic. The program prepares them to take the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB).

Students are the main focus at Anthem Institute, and our learning environment is designed to support their success. The class environment encourages personalized instruction and hands-on training. A Student Services Department helps students obtain services they need to remain in college, such as gathering referrals for housing or child care. Our Education Department staff meet with every student to provide academic counseling, map out schedules, or arrange for tutoring if needed.
