Surgical Technologist
Associate in Science Degree
Surgical technologist programs provide students with the education and clinical training needed to work with surgical teams.
Anthem College—Orlando offers an Associate in Science degree in Surgical Technologist that prepares graduates to compete for entry-level positions assisting surgical personnel before, during and after surgery.
Students in the associate program receive hands-on training in surgical procedures and techniques, and learn about surgical instrumentation, infection control, and pharmacology and anesthesiology.
Core Surgical Technologist Skill-Building Courses
Core classes address medical terminology and human body systems and support. Students also take general education classes that focus on developing workplace skills, including communication, composition, and psychology.
A career success class provides guidance on managing financial and personal responsibility after graduation.
At Anthem, we want to give our students the support they need to succeed. That’s why our students learn in small, personalized classes and real-world training labs. We also provide:
- Student services that help students remain in school
- Academic advising, tutoring and study groups organized by the Education Department
- Supportive community environment
After completing the coursework, students enter an externship that provides valuable experience and gives them a chance to practice their skills with a surgical team.
