Diploma Program

Massage therapy students learn different types of massage techniques to relieve pain caused by injury or illness.

Students can earn a Massage Therapy Diploma at Anthem Institute—North Brunswick. The program teaches students the skills they need to compete for entry-level massage therapy positions. It also prepares them to take the National Certification Exam in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB).

Range of Massage Training and Modalities

Students are taught Swedish, respiratory/geriatric, sports, and spa massage applications, as well as trigger point and stress relief therapies. Other courses discuss body systems, nutrition, and hydrotherapy.

Students are the Number One focus at Anthem Institute, and our school environment supports their success.  Classes allow for personalized instruction and hands-on training. A Student Services Department helps students obtain services they need to remain in college, such as gathering referrals for housing or child care. Our Education Department staff meet with every student to provide academic counseling, map out schedules, or arrange for tutoring if needed.

A course on business practices focuses on how to launch and promote a massage therapy business. It also discusses ethics and standard business practices concerning hygiene, first aid and CPR.

After successfully completing all coursework, students complete a supervised clinic.

Students who complete the program are eligible for positions in clinical and sports facilities, spas, salons, and other businesses with a health, medical or wellness focus.
