Diploma Program

Medical assistant students are taught administrative and clinical skills that help physician offices run as efficiently as possible.

Students can study for a Medical Assistant Diploma at Anthem Career College—Nashville to prepare for entry-level positions in medical offices. Examples include careers as clinical medical and laboratory assistants,  medical assistants, and medical secretaries.

Our students are also encouraged to return to Anthem Career College any time after they graduate and take refresher courses to help them stay on top of the latest developments in their field at no charge.

Hands-on Medical Assistant Training

At Anthem Career College, students in the medical assistant program learn clinical and administration procedures and skills in a hands-on environment. They learn to perform venipuncture and blood chemistry procedures, sterilization techniques, and electrocardiography. They are trained in medical office processes including patient communications, scheduling and bookkeeping.

Classes cover health science topics, an introduction to health insurance and claims processing, and emergency medical services. In addition, a career success course teaches practical skills students use in job searches as well as financial management.

Students enter an externship in a healthcare setting after they have completed coursework to gain real-world experience.
