Medical assistant students learn the administrative and clinical skills necessary to help physician offices run efficiently.

Anthem Career College—Memphis offers a Medical Assistant Diploma that helps students prepare for entry-level positions in medical offices. They can launch their careers as clinical and laboratory assistants, administrative medical assistants, bookkeepers and medical receptionists.

Hands-on Medical Assistant Training

Medical assistant students are taught in a hands-on environment to learn venipuncture and blood chemistry procedures, sterilization techniques and electrocardiography. They are trained in medical office processes for patient communications, scheduling and bookkeeping.

Other courses address health science topics, provide an introduction to health insurance and claims processing, and train students to deliver emergency medical services. A career success course teaches practical skills to use in job searches as well as financial management.

Our Medical Assistant students have been invited to team with the Shelby County Health Department Medical Reserve Corp in a Disaster Preparedness Drill.

Each student enters an externship in a healthcare setting after completing coursework to gain real-world experience.
