Anthem College-Kansas City
Established in 2003, Anthem College-Kansas City offers career-focused training programs in the healthcare and veterinary technology fields.
We train career-focused professionals whose skills match the needs of today’s employers. Our programs combine coursework and classroom lectures with skills development in labs that look like real-world work environments. We want to ensure that when students come prepared to learn, they leave prepared to succeed.
Hands-on Career Training in a Large Healthcare Industry
The Kansas City healthcare sector has held its own during the recession. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, (BLS) healthcare jobs grew slightly throughout 2011, and even saw year-to-year growth in prior years. The US Department of Health and Human Services is a the largest employer in the city, while two hospitals—Children’s Mercy and St. Luke’s—are the eighth and ninth largest respectively.
There are more than 100 hospitals located in the Kansas City region, and 4300 physicians.
Vet Tech Training in Missouri
The BLS says that there are few qualified veterinary technicians from two-year programs such as the one at Anthem College. As a result, employment is expected to grow much faster than average for all jobs, as much as 35 percent. Anthem College-Kansas City has applied for accreditation with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). The College opened a new training facility for its Veterinary Technology students in December 2011.
