Hands-on Medical Assistant Training

The Medical Assistant Diploma offered by Anthem College—Aurora prepares students for entry-level positions as medical assistants, medical secretaries, and laboratory technicians. The program is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

Students receive hands-on training in clinical and laboratory procedures such as urinalysis and hematology. They learn about sterilization and injection techniques. They study medical terminologies, the respiratory and circulatory systems, and how to measure blood pressure, body temperatures, pulse and respiratory rates. They also learn how to operate electrocardiology (ECG) machinery and read its graphs, and provide medical office emergency procedures.

In addition, students learn key administrative procedures including handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, and communicating with patients. They are introduced to the concepts of medical insurance and billing processes and medical recordkeeping.

After they successfully complete all coursework, students enter an externship in a healthcare setting.

At Anthem College, we care about our students’ success! Our classes are available during the day and in the evenings in order to accommodate our students’ busy schedules. We also offer:
