Massage Therapy
Associate of Applied Science Degree
Massage therapy students acquire the technical skills needed to work in this field. Some programs also prepare students to manage a massage therapy business or launch their own enterprises.

Anthem College—Aurora offers an Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapy that provides clinical and workplace training for persons interested in massage as a business or as a professional opportunity. At Anthem College, developing professional skills is emphasized alongside different massage therapy modalities, nutrition and body systems.
At Anthem College, we care about our student’s personal and academic success. In addition to a career-focused education, we provide:
- Real-world training labs where students can develop and practice their skills
- Student services that help students remain in school
- Academic advising, tutoring and study groups organized by the Education Department
Massage Therapy Degree Courses
Additional coursework helps the student prepare for a business or managerial career in massage therapy and covers key items such as communication for health care professionals, healthcare compliance, computer applications and composition.
Our Massage Therapy Program Chair is a well-respected professional who was named Faculty Member of the Year in 2010 by the Colorado Association of Career Colleges and Schools. Her other accomplishments include licensure and certification in massage therapy and acupuncture in multiple states and a Diplomate in Acupuncture certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Students begin working in an onsite campus clinic after they have successfully completed all their coursework. This gives them the chance to gain valuable real-world experience working with paying clients, under close supervision from faculty.
Associate degree graduates are prepared to sit for the Massage and Bodywork Licensing exam (MBLEx) and the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. They are ready to compete for entry-level massage therapy positions with sports and medical clinics as well as outpatient settings for psychology, pain management, and orthopedic services.
