Associate in Science Degree

A surgical technology program prepares students to assist surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and other personnel before, during and after surgical procedures.

Surgical technology programs also ensure that students have both the clinical training and educational background to work with surgical teams. Within the city of Atlanta, there are seven major surgical hospitals—some with multiple locations—and several more in the region. Add in dozens of outpatient surgical centers and you find a strong market for surgical technologists.

Anthem College—Atlanta offers an Associate in Science in Surgical Technology that prepares students to compete for entry-level positions with healthcare teams. The program has a strong focus on surgical procedures and techniques as well as infection control and instrumentation training. Non-clinical courses cover medical terminology and human body systems and support.

Surgical Technology Degree Designed Courses

The program is rounded out by general education courses that boost key workplace skills, including communication, composition, and psychology. A career success class provides guidance on managing work, school, financial, and personal responsibility.

At Anthem College, we want to give our students the support they need to succeed.  We offer day and evening classes to accommodate our students’ busy schedules. We also provide:

In 2011, one of our Surgical Technology students won an award honoring her outstanding academic and military career.

After successfully completing all coursework, students enter two externships that provide them with hands-on work experience with surgical teams.
