Medical Assisting Degree Program

The medical assisting degree program has a heavy focus on clinical training. Students take courses in clinical, laboratory and specialty procedures; medical terminology; and human body systems and support. General education classes support working in medical environments and include topics such as psychology, ethics and communication.

After completing coursework, students must complete two externships in healthcare facilities. This gives them real-world experience and the opportunity to practice skills tested in the lab in professional settings.
